Under general administrative direction, the Radio Communications Coordinator (Telecommunications Coordinator) directs the functional operation of mission-critical communications systems. This role addresses technical issues related to mission-critical radio communication infrastructure, including the radio system, fire alerting, and microwave network. The coordinator directs the planning and coordination of systems maintenance and repair with vendors and end-users, and creates code plugs, programs, and upgrades subscriber two-way radios and repeaters. The position involves activating and mobilizing emergency backup systems and communications trailers, and providing technical support to public safety departments during emergencies. This job classification is in Management Category III for benefits purposes, which includes six (6) additional Management Vacation Days and a Vehicle Allowance of $250/month.
