About The Position

The Senior Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring supplemental and agency staffing activities. This role is accountable for clinical pool and agency staffing, intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities, process improvement activities, and fiscal control. The Senior Staffing Coordinator plans appropriate pool and agency staffing practices by maximizing resource utilization and forecasts employee needs of the unit based on patient workload fluctuations, while maintaining staffing at agreed-upon budgetary standards. This position assists management with policy and procedure implementation and maintenance, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and maintains competency in relevant safety standards. The role involves daily communication with units to determine staffing needs, participation in short and long-term unit staffing planning, and conducting operations with minimal supervision. Additionally, the Senior Staffing Coordinator provides timekeeping educational support, assists with orientation and training, maintains master staffing sheets, schedules, manpower reports, and PTO requests, and ensures timekeeping standards are met. This role also involves transferring and verifying information related to cancellations, absences, sick time, and PTO onto the master schedule, and maintaining rotation of holiday staffing for all disciplines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and monitors supplemental and agency staffing activities.

  • Conducts everyday operations with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Provides timekeeping educational support for management and end-user staff.
  • Assists with departmental and interdepartmental orientation and training as needed.
  • Maintains master staffing sheets, schedules, manpower reports, and PTO requests.
  • Ensures that timekeeping standards are within policy standards as applicable.
  • Transfers information (cancellations, absences, sick time, PTO) onto the master schedule and verifies the accuracy of information entered by the staffing department.
  • Maintains rotation of holiday staffing for all disciplines (RN, Patient Care Support, etc.) as applicable.
