About The Position

As a Senior Staff Product Manager for Adversarial Actors, you will own Pinterest’s end-to-end strategy for inauthentic behavior, including detection and enforcement for bots, account takeovers, and spam across the Pinterest funnel. You will work closely with Policy, Operations, Engineering, and Data Science to protect Pinners, advertisers, and the business. The role defines and delivers a company-wide adversarial strategy across pre-authentication, login/signup, and post-authentication surfaces. It includes setting a multi-year vision, aligning executive stakeholders, and driving coordinated investment across Policy, Operations, Machine Learning Engineering, Integrity Analytics, Data Science, Security, and Identity. You will develop the post-authentication roadmap, support the Bots & ATO Product Manager on the pre-authentication roadmap, and establish measurement strategies for spam prevalence, detection quality, and enforcement effectiveness. The position is countrywide, with in-office collaboration required 1–2 times per quarter. It is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of product management experience, with deep expertise in trust and safety, account integrity, anti-abuse, or adversarial domains.
  • Proven track record owning machine-learning-powered detection products and shipping enforcement systems at scale.
  • Strong data fluency, including comfort with precision, recall, false-positive rates, prevalence measurement, and adversarial dynamics.
  • SQL proficiency sufficient to independently investigate and analyze data.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking and experience navigating complex, interconnected detection and enforcement infrastructure.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and executive-level communication; ability to drive alignment and decisions across functions and present strategies and recommendations to leadership at all levels.
  • Strong judgment on policy and enforcement tradeoffs, balancing enforcement with the impact of false positives on users.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex adversarial, machine-learning, and policy concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the post-authentication roadmap, including measurement, detection signals, and enforcement actions.
  • Support the Bots & ATO Product Manager on the pre-authentication roadmap.
  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to build spam account and domain signals, including network-based detection, machine-learning models, and heuristic-based rules.
  • Partner with the Enforcement Systems team to develop spam account and domain enforcement actions, including warnings, rate limits, feature restrictions, deactivations, and domain-level actions.
  • Set the metrics and measurement strategy for post-authentication spam prevalence, detection quality, and enforcement effectiveness.
  • Anticipate emerging adversarial patterns and continuously reprioritize investments to stay ahead of evolving abuse.
  • Collaborate with teams across Pinterest to protect Pinners, advertisers, and the business.
