About The Position

Our client is an AI-driven platform that makes healthcare more accessible by connecting patients to the right providers, offering transparent pricing, and simplifying medication management. We're looking for a senior frontend engineer to join a high-growth health tech company, where a small, elite team powers a large-scale platform serving hundreds of thousands of patients. You'll own the full frontend experience end-to-end — from architecture and state management to responsive UI and production observability — with real autonomy and direct impact on patient health outcomes across an expanding range of care offerings.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of frontend engineering experience building and operating production React applications that balance dense data complexity with polished, accessible UIs.
• Deep command of React internals — not just hooks, but the full render cycle and data orchestration.
• Understand the tradeoffs between SSR, static generation, and client-side fetching, and use tools like Next.js pragmatically.
• Self-directed product builder who doesn't need a pixel-perfect spec to ship great work.
• Strong design eye and can make confident visual decisions while staying true to a design system.
• AI has meaningfully changed how you work. You actively use frontier agentic tools to build faster, and you can speak concretely about how they've shifted your workflow — while maintaining the technical rigor to audit and own everything they produce.
• Low-ego, high-standards, and communicate well across functions.
• Comfortable working where engineering decisions are shaped by compliance, regulation, and patient safety.
• Excited to work in-person five days a week in San Francisco.
• TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React Query, Zustand.

Responsibilities

• Build complex clinical tools and patient-facing applications that handle sensitive medical data with precise state synchronization, including multi-step intake flows and high-density provider dashboards.
• Design scalable frontend architectures that manage deeply relational healthcare data, keeping interfaces fast and responsive even under heavy API loads.
• Partner with mobile engineers to establish shared patterns and unified architecture across web and React Native/Expo platforms.
• Go beyond specs — bring strong product intuition to every UI decision, sweating the details that make experiences genuinely better for patients and providers alike.
• Own the full lifecycle post-ship: deployment pipelines, performance budgets, and client-side observability via tools like Sentry and Datadog.
• Integrate AI directly into product interfaces to automate clinical workflows, while also leveraging agentic tools to accelerate your own development velocity.
