About The Position

The Senior Staff Category Management Professional, working independently with limited supervision, is responsible for performing highly complex tasks relating to the management of an assigned category or categories within the organization. The role leads collaborative demand planning initiatives, drives innovative process optimization, and monitors contract and supplier performance for continuous business improvement. The role acts as a business liaison, supports corporate budget processes, and independently carries out complex category management projects, demonstrating mentoring and influencing skills. The role also establishes effective relationships, remediates data quality issues, and contributes to company goals and decision-making through detailed functional mastery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Supply Chain specializing in areas such as Category Management, Sourcing, Cost Management or a related field.
  • Industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with various supply chain functions, including Procurement Admin and Ops Procurement, overseeing the development and execution of a comprehensive category strategy, sourcing events, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends solutions to complex functional problems, coordinates assignments across functional areas, and demonstrates expertise in category management, contributing to company goals and decision-making.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with key suppliers, driving innovation, and ensuring a competitive advantage.
  • Leads strategic demand planning initiatives collaboratively with business units, aligning them with organizational objectives and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leverages market intelligence and an understanding of market dynamics, synthesizing industry trends, competitor analysis, and economic factors, to drive strategic decision-making and demand planning.
  • Monitors contract and supplier performance through various channels, fostering continuous business improvement for enhanced profitability.
  • Develops and oversees strategies to maximize supplier product line integration, promoting efficiency and value within the business.
  • Acts as a business liaison between suppliers and different organizational units, supporting the corporate budget and cash management process.
  • Carries out complex category management projects independently, leads change efforts, and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives, demonstrating skill in mentoring and influencing.
  • Establishes effective relationships, mentors the team, achieves strategic results using business acumen, and actively remediates data quality issues, optimizing problem-solving through multi-discipline knowledge.
