About The Position

Through our portfolio of brands, including Connexity, ShopYourLikes, and Skimlinks, we partner with thousands of retailers, publishers, and creators to drive sales for major retailers globally. We're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Santa Monica. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will play an important part in supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the broader business, gaining exposure to a dynamic, global technology company while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financials. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and contributing to a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience in accounting or finance; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel applications and formulas
  • Basic understanding of accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced accounting environment with flexibility to take on new duties as needed amidst changing priorities
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Assistant Controller to execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal monthly financial statements
  • Review and oversee intercompany balances
  • Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure accuracy and work with the FP&A team and other departments to understand and explain variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts
  • Liaise with foreign subsidiaries to complete global analyses and resolve any issues identified
  • Assist with external and internal audits and preparation of tax returns by compiling required documentation and preparing various schedules and support
  • Help in determining proper internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing solutions, including system automation
  • Work with accounting management to administer the company’s travel and expense program
  • Research, resolve and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist in special ad-hoc projects as assigned
