The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role will also help maintain a strong internal control environment and provide support to a variety of accounting and operational functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate is well organized and comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory/lead experience a plus
  • Experience with JD Edwards ERP system a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage month end close process with Sr. Manager
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts for complex and risky accounts
  • Become an ERP super user/ subject matter expert
  • Process weekly AP payments
  • Assist with Wells Fargo credit card administration
  • Prepare schedules, and perform research and analysis, related to year-end financial audit and tax return requests
  • Support year-end reporting and compliance procedures
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned
