About The Position

The purpose of this Sr. Specialist, Dementia Care Training is to implement, deliver and support initiatives that support the Alzheimer’s Association’s program delivery and growth strategy for professionals. The Senior Specialist is responsible for identifying, recruiting, engaging, and expanding the network of professionals and organizational engagement in alignment with the Association's strategic goals. This position will serve as the Association's expert in dementia care practices and related products and services. This position is grant funded.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in social services or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in community outreach activities, and competency in teaching, training and/or delivering educational programs or public speaking/group facilitation.
  • Proven success in project management, coordination of services and meeting strategic goals.
  • Able to cultivate relationships with community partners, organizations, staff and diverse populations to support and expand the care professional strategy.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others, hold others accountable and reach mutually agreeable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with long-term care settings and/or home and community-based care settings
  • Ability to represent the Association effectively to community partners, community leaders, and corporate partners.
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in recording and monitoring systems as needed per grant requirements.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Experience building rapport/trust, assessing needs and articulating a value proposition.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
  • General knowledge of community health, community-based organizations and systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or for a residential or healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of, and delivery of Association (care) professional initiatives such as Project ECHO, Care Coaching, Conference strategies, CMP, Review Products, Rural Health Transformation and other related products and services.
  • Maintain expertise in the Association’s best practices of care for those in long-term and home and community-based care settings. Lending this expertise as needed across Association departments and supporting the development of new best practices as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation and engagement of professionals through sharing information about products and services that may support care setting needs, presenting and supporting conference work and other areas where care professionals may gather.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with care professional leaders using a relationship sales approach to grow the Association’s care professional program reach and revenue.
