Sr. Solutions Architect - AI Natives Business
About The Position
As a Sr. Solutions Architect on the AI native team supporting the Digital Natives business, you will shape the future of the big data landscape by working with sophisticated data engineering and data science teams. Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with customers, product teams, and the broader customer-facing team to develop architectures and solutions using the company’s platform and APIs. You will guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation, while developing technical champions. You will partner with the sales team and provide technical leadership to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems. The role includes consulting on big data architectures and implementing proofs of concept for strategic projects across data engineering, data science and machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows. You will also validate integrations with cloud services, home-grown tools, and third-party applications; collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support one another and users; and become an expert in, promote, and recruit contributors for Databricks-inspired open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
Requirements
- 7+ years in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- Experience building distributed data systems.
- Comfortable programming in and debugging Python and SQL.
- Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in at least one of the following: data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka; or data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Available to travel to customers in your region.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- Databricks Certification.
Responsibilities
