About The Position

The Sr. Solutions Architect is an expert-level technical leader responsible for the organization's most complex customer engagements. The role drives consumption strategy, owns executive-level relationships, and serves as the definitive technical authority for assigned accounts. The architect has a declared technical specialization and applies deep expertise to strategic account planning and executive influence. The role leads complex architecture engagements, including multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale. It also develops competitive strategies, coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions, coaches junior Solutions Architects, and contributes to Field Engineering thought leadership through customer-facing content, workshops, and community engagement.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
Expert-level coding proficiency in Python and SQL, ideally also Spark/PySpark; the interview includes a live coding assessment and platform build.
Deep enterprise data architecture expertise, including distributed systems at scale, streaming and real-time systems, lakehouse design patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
Expert-level knowledge of the Databricks Platform, or equivalent depth in competing platforms with demonstrated ability to learn rapidly.
A declared technical specialization with recognized depth, such as real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance, large-scale migrations, or industry-specific solutions.
Proven record of driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts.
Executive presence and ability to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders on long-term data and AI strategy.
Experience leading competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations.
Strong strategic thinking and ability to connect technical architecture decisions to business outcomes and revenue impact.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.

Prior experience at Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google, Microsoft, or a top-tier data/AI company.
Published thought leadership, such as blogs, conference talks, or open-source contributions.
Industry vertical expertise with executive-level domain credibility.

Responsibilities

Drive technical and consumption strategy for complex customer engagements, influencing platform adoption and revenue growth.
Own senior-level technical relationships and advise customers on enterprise data and AI strategy.
Lead complex architecture engagements involving multi-workload platforms, enterprise-wide migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
Apply expert Databricks Platform knowledge and a declared technical archetype; mentor others and drive impact across the team.
Develop and execute competitive strategies, positioning Databricks against incumbent and emerging platforms.
Orchestrate cross-functional teams, including DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product teams, to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
Coach and develop junior Solutions Architects (L3–L5) in technical depth, customer engagement, and use-case prioritization.
Contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership through customer-facing content, workshops, and community engagement.
