About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking an experienced Sr. Software QA Analyst to join their team in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The primary objective of this role is to contribute to a development team in the production of valuable custom software products. This includes collaborating with users and team members on requirements gathering, creating training documentation, testing software to confirm requirements have been met, and providing direction to junior QA analysts. The Analyst will quickly and skillfully learn, understand, and support the business of Turner Industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related area.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in the field, or in a related area with relevant quality assurance and/or construction experience.
  • Proficient in Tricentis Tosca, with AI capabilities preferred.
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I).
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks as well as lead and direct the work of others.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal with face-to-face interactions with a wide variety of personalities.
  • A positive attitude, open mind, and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques and tools (Experience with Azure DevOps test plans & test cases are preferred).
  • Reliable internet connectivity at all times of the workday.
  • Applicant will be provided with adequate computer hardware to perform job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a development team daily.
  • Performs a variety of tasks under minimal supervision and may be required to lead in testing or requirements gathering.
  • Understands, decomposes, and occasionally documents business processes as needed.
  • Creates application design documentation needed to build software.
  • Ensures functional requirements have been met by designing/developing/maintaining test cases.
  • Performs skillful exploratory testing of applications.
  • Documents application issues, providing steps to fix detected issues.
  • Contributes to user training and production implementation activities.
  • Compiles test data and defines desired results for testing software.
  • Provides training and direction to onboarding QA I analysts as needed.
  • Uses experience and judgment to support peers and advise management as needed.
  • Oversees peer testing within the Custom Software Development Department.
  • Performs additional software testing assignments per supervisor's direction as needed.
