About The Position

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build software systems for its global LogScale/NG-SIEM infrastructure. The FrontTier Expansions team enables LogScale fleets to run reliably across AWS, GCP, OCI, and CrowdStrike-managed datacenters. The role owns core services and automation frameworks that make multi-cloud expansion fast, safe, and repeatable, while mentoring engineers and raising the team's engineering standards. The platform ingests more than 100 PB of event data daily, supports decade-long data retention, serves millions of queries per hour, and serves thousands of customers worldwide. This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days per week onsite at CrowdStrike’s Austin, Texas office. The engineer will design and operate services and automation for multi-cloud infrastructure, contribute to platform-wide libraries, strengthen observability and reliability, and help deliver secure, scalable infrastructure. The position also participates in a global production on-call rotation. CrowdStrike describes itself as a global cybersecurity leader with a mission to stop breaches. The company emphasizes flexibility and autonomy, responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. The posted U.S. base salary range is $140,000–$220,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Experience with data lake/lakehouse architectures or data federation at scale.
  • Kubernetes operator or Helm development experience, or CKA/CKAD/CKS certification.
  • SRE practices experience, including SLOs and error budgets, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/GCP/OCI) and FinOps or cost-optimization experience.
  • Open-source contributions and effective use of AI coding assistants.
  • Computer science degree or commensurate experience; cybersecurity/SIEM background.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own core services and libraries supporting multi-cloud deployment and operation of LogScale fleets across AWS, GCP, OCI, and on-premises datacenters.
  • Develop automation tooling and microservices to standardize provisioning, upgrading, and scaling infrastructure and platform components across cloud providers.
  • Build and extend observability tooling, including tracing, profiling, alerting, and SLO frameworks, to provide insight into fleet health.
  • Architect capacity planning, workload forecasting, and dynamic scaling solutions across heterogeneous cloud environments.
  • Contribute to and improve shared-tier libraries and frameworks used across the NG-SIEM/LogScale platform.
  • Lead technical design for version upgrades, patch orchestration, and configuration management systems that minimize customer impact.
  • Implement security-first infrastructure designs, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging, aligned with cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements.
