About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. The role develops, configures, or modifies complex integrated business and enterprise application solutions across computing environments, and facilitates implementation and maintenance to support successful deployment of released applications.

Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region. Lowe’s Flex Office concept requires in-person work two to three days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub. Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement, if applicable.
• 5 years of experience in software development or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in at least one of the following competencies: frontend technologies (user interface/user experience), middleware (microservices and application programming interfaces), database technologies, or DevOps.
• 4 years of experience on projects implementing solutions through development life cycles (SDLC) using iterative agile development.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in a front-end engineering role focused on React.js and Node.js.
• 4 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software environment, developing and implementing business systems within an organization, and working with source code control systems.
• 4 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, defect or incident tracking software, web services, and application and integration middleware.
• 4 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high-level design for complex solutions.
• 4 years of experience working with three or more of the following: continuous integration/continuous deployment tools, frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, and/or DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business requirements and functional specifications into executable stories, designs, and code modules, partnering with product teams to understand business needs and specifications.
• Independently write high-quality, maintainable, robust code, supported by adequate test suites and an observability framework.
• Guide application and software development teams in designing and building complex solutions, ensuring alignment with architecture blueprints, standards, and strategies.
• Participate in and mentor other engineers on software development technologies and processes through onboarding documents, root cause analyses, key learnings, demos, and share-out sessions.
• Automate and simplify team development, testing, and operations processes to improve delivery efficiency.
• Evaluate modern software, tools, and technologies and provide objective analysis and recommendations.
