Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, Enterprise Technology Services
About The Position
Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization supports Apple’s enterprise and customer technology systems. The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team develops platforms and services for identity management, factory and device support, infrastructure and platform support, and collaboration tools, helping provide secure and reliable experiences across the Apple ecosystem. As a Site Reliability and Operations Engineer, you will work closely with application teams to automate operations, optimize infrastructure, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. You will help ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and high-performing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Java or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or LUA.
- Hands-on experience with one or more relational or NoSQL databases, such as Oracle or MongoDB.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in Linux, networking concepts such as TLS/SSL, DNS, and load balancers, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Experience with source control management such as Git.
- Understanding of CI/CD, release engineering, and DevOps.
- Understanding of security standards, policies, and cryptography.
- Experience with incident and problem management and root cause analysis.
- Strong networking and load-balancing experience with tools such as Nginx, Envoy, or NetScaler.
- Experience in webMethods development and administration.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts such as networking, storage, secrets, deployments, and containers.
- AWS or GCP experience.
- Knowledge or experience in governance and compliance.
- Understanding of SRE principles, including observability, error budgeting, reliability measurements through SLA, SLO, and SLI, telemetry standards and practices, and product feedback.
