About The Position

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Scrum Master to lead multiple cross-functional teams or an Agile Release Train (ART). This role involves guiding teams on Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum, and Lean (Kanban) values and practices through servant leadership. The Scrum Master will foster a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset, and agile maturity by implementing agile practices, utilizing metrics, adhering to SAFe guidelines, removing blockers, and partnering with leadership. The position requires exhibiting and promoting the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean Agile values, principles and practices, Advanced.
  • Knowledge of Lean agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Expert.
  • Knowledge of Scaling frameworks like SAFe, Advanced.
  • Demonstrate strong and clear accountability for program success, Expert.
  • Knowledge of Product Ownership, DevOps, Test Automation practices etc, Advanced.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral, Advanced.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines, Expert.
  • Ability to organize data and create metrics/reports/dashboards, Expert.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and industry standard Agile tools, Advanced.
  • Ability to drive change at different levels, manage conflicts constructively, Advanced.
  • 8 years or equivalent in the use of Lean, Agile methodologies including three plus years as Scrum Master or Kanban lead.
  • Proven success leading multiple Agile teams to agile maturity and improved customer outcomes.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSP) Upon Hire Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile Release train.
  • Leading Change and continuous improvement, working with a cross functional team by applying lean agile methods.
  • Experience doing value stream mapping, system level optimizations etc. applying Theory of Constraints and other Lean techniques.
  • SAFe Scrum Master Certification Upon Hire Preferred.
  • Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer Preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Professional Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate team progress towards goals, acting as a facilitator for multiple teams or as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for a SAFe ART.
  • Continuously challenge existing work methods to improve team or ART performance in areas like quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
  • Help teams focus on daily or Iteration Goals within the context of current Program Increment (PI) or Release Objectives.
  • Lead team/ART efforts in relentless improvement, helping teams improve and take responsibility for their actions.
  • Facilitate team retrospectives and teach problem-solving techniques.
  • Facilitate team meetings (Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, Iteration Retrospective) or ART level meetings (PI planning, Scrum of Scrums, PI retrospectives).
  • Ensure the Definition of Done (DoD) and other team/ART working agreements are followed.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team/ART to improve performance and value delivery.
  • Support team/ART efforts to continuously improve communication and relationships with other teams.
  • Coordinate work with other teams to improve flow and throughput.
  • Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) or run the SoS meeting, and/or other program level ceremonies.
  • Help teams remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve larger program effectiveness.
  • Build effective relationships with supporting teams such as User Experience, Architecture, and Shared Services.
  • Support Product Owner and Product Management in backlog management and guiding the team while maintaining a healthy team dynamic.
  • Eliminate impediments by engaging the right stakeholders within the organization or partner organizations.
  • Support the team/ART in addressing and eliminating issues to improve the likelihood of achieving objectives.
  • Assist with internal and external communication and improve transparency.
  • Exhibit and infuse Lean-Agile Leader behaviors to nurture a Lean-Agile Mindset.
  • Provide input and lead initiatives to improve business agility.
  • Identify and drive culture change required to improve agility within teams and ARTs.
