About The Position

Hill International is seeking a Sr Scheduler in Pomona, California. This role is responsible for scheduling major projects and distribution program projects (30+ work groups of distribution projects) with some level of complexity, requiring tracking the status of local permits. The Sr Scheduler will be responsible for overall schedule tracking, monitoring, and reporting efforts to ensure major and/or multi-year projects are completed on schedule. This includes developing schedules, incorporating existing schedules, documenting delays for time impact analysis, and performing complex research and data gathering/analysis in scheduling management. The position involves preparing and presenting results, alternatives, and recommendations to support business decisions, manage project costs and schedules, and mitigate potential risks. Additionally, the Sr Scheduler will prepare project controls data request responses for governance, audits, General Rate Cases, and regulatory filings. The role requires expertise in master integrated schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and calculating earned values, with direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution. This includes identifying problems and solutions, collaborating to establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, and deliverables. The Sr Scheduler will utilize project controls for schedule management, forecasting, performance monitoring (variance analysis, maintaining schedules and project plans, identifying trends, and assessing performance against schedule targets). The role also involves organizing and driving actions to resolve issues or escalate them to the Project Manager, and mentoring other employees to develop future project controls professionals. Effective communication is essential, as data gathering will involve many groups and contractors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, construction management, business, finance, or project management, or a combination of education, training, and experience, equivalent to a 4-year college
7+ years’ experience in scheduling and capital projects/construction
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Visio) and SAP required.
Must be Proficient in Primavera P6
Must be local to Southern California, hybrid work schedule in Pomona, CA.
Able to travel to job sites on as-needed basis (generally less than once per month)

Nice To Haves

Electrical Utility experience preferred.
Construction management experience preferred.
Certificate and/or License – Planning & Scheduling Professional, Earned Value Professional, Certified preferred.

Expert at master integrated schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and calculating earned values.
Direct involvement in tasks necessary for successful project execution.
Identifies problems and solutions.
Collaborates to establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, and deliverables.
Utilizes project controls in exercising schedule management, forecasting, performance monitoring such as variance analysis, maintaining schedules and project plans, identifying trends, and assessing performance against schedule targets.
Organized and drives actions to resolve issues immediately or bring them to the Project Manager for action.
Mentor to other employees to develop future project controls professionals.
