About The Position

This role is responsible for the technical development, maintenance, and support of SAP Payroll systems, ensuring seamless payroll processing and compliance with applicable regulations. The analyst will serve as a bridge between business requirements and technical solutions, collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT teams to optimize processes, enhance system performance, and deliver a best-in-class employee experience. At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.

Requirements

  • 5 years/undergraduate degree in IT, business administration or finance/accounting
  • In lieu of degree; 7+ years of SAP Payroll configuration (employee central EC/Employee Central Payroll/ ECP)
  • Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required
  • Proven production payroll experience with SAP Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Payroll configuration, schemas, rules, and Payroll Control Center (PCC)
  • Hands-on experience with payroll replication monitoring and error resolution between EC & ECP
  • Proficiency with SAP HR modules (PA, OM), payroll processes, and tax compliance
  • Experience with data migration/interface tools (LSMW, BDC, IDocs, ALE)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify root causes and drive resolutions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and high-volume environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across global teams

Nice To Haves

  • SAP Payroll certification
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Familiarity with ABAP, ESS/MSS, SAP Query, and reporting tools
  • Experience with SAP Fiori apps, GDPR compliance, or ITIL framework
  • Prior technical experience with large enterprise HR/Payroll system implementations
  • Project management or Agile methodology experience

Responsibilities

  • Technical Development & Enhancements: Develop and maintain SAP Payroll programs, reports, and integrations
  • Partner with IT to configure payroll schemas, rules, wage types, and support gross-to-net processing
  • Build and maintain interfaces with third-party systems
  • System Maintenance & Support: Provide day-to-day technical support for SAP HR/Payroll modules
  • Troubleshoot payroll-related errors and resolve issues with time, taxation, and posting processes
  • Ensure system upgrades, HR Support Packs, and OSS Notes are managed and operate as expected
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend system/process improvements
  • Collaboration & Testing: Partner with payroll operations to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop test scripts, manage and execute system testing, and oversee defect resolution
  • Document processes, work schedules, and holiday calendars
  • Compliance & Data Management: Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with tax and labor regulations
  • Safeguard data integrity, security, and audit requirements
  • Monitor data quality, cleansing, and mapping activities across payroll systems
  • Monitor and update incoming and outgoing third-party file status including benefit files
  • Analytics & Reporting: Respond to ad hoc payroll reporting requests
  • Provide analytics and insights to business leaders for decision-making
