Sr. SAP Integration Architect

Auger•Bellevue, WA

About The Position

Auger is hiring a Sr. SAP Integration Architect to own SAP integration architecture for enterprise manufacturing and distribution customers using AugerOS. The role discovers how each customer's SAP landscape is actually configured and designs the approaches for extracting operational data and writing decisions back into SAP. It serves as Auger's SAP authority across customer SAP and IT teams, Auger engineering, and third-party SAP partners, with responsibility for evaluating designs and determining whether partner deliverables are ready to ship. The architect will establish the company's SAP discovery process, reference architectures, and partner bench. The role combines customer-facing architecture, partner and contract management, and internal education, and contributes to decisions that affect customer purchasing, movement, and shipment operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with SAP, including at least 5 years in integration or technical architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on depth in IDocs, BAPIs/RFCs, OData, CDS views, ODP/ODQ, and SLT.
  • Experience with at least one middleware platform: PI/PO, CPI, or BTP.
  • Working knowledge of the ECC and S/4HANA supply chain data model, including MM, SD, PP, and WM or EWM, key tables, and document flows.
  • Experience getting SAP data into Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, or a hyperscaler data lake.
  • Knowledge of SAP security, including roles, technical users, OAuth, principal propagation, and their application to third-party integrations.
  • Record of scoping, contracting, and managing SAP subcontractors or systems integrators, including evaluating statements of work and estimates.
  • Ability to lead workshops with customer SAP Centers of Excellence and explain outcomes clearly to engineers and executives unfamiliar with SAP.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and developing approaches where established processes do not yet exist.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions with customer SAP teams and map SAP landscapes, middleware, instances, clients, and extraction tools.
  • Document customer configurations and customizations for relevant supply chain objects, and produce landscape diagrams, object and field mappings, volume and change-frequency profiles, and open-risk logs.
  • Choose appropriate SAP data extraction patterns for each customer and design SAP write-backs, accounting for authorization, principal propagation, error handling, idempotency, and auditability.
  • Evaluate integration options against customer licensing, SAP API and extraction policies, security requirements, and IT team preferences, and drive agreement on a design.
  • Work with Auger engineers on loading SAP data into Snowflake, Databricks, or Fabric and mapping it into Auger's data model.
  • Define work required inside customer SAP systems, including custom CDS views, function modules, BAdIs, iFlows, and authorization roles.
  • Source and evaluate SAP subcontractors; review statements of work for scope, estimates, and assumptions; and hold partners accountable for quality and schedules.
  • Review partner designs and deliverables and translate between partner work and Auger's architecture.
  • Build SAP integration playbook materials, including discovery templates, reference architectures, object catalogs, and decision guides.
  • Coach engineers and engagement leads on routine SAP questions.
  • Track SAP developments, including S/4 migrations, BTP, Business Data Cloud, and API and licensing changes, and communicate their strategic implications.
