About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations – North America, you will play a key and highly strategic role in the company’s business development activities. You will be actively involved in pre‑project phases and will be directly responsible for the preparation, structuring, and negotiation of winning commercial proposals for the design, manufacturing, and installation of hydroelectric turbine‑generator units across Canada and the United States. Through these large‑scale projects, you will contribute directly to the energy transition, supporting the development and modernization of sustainable hydropower infrastructure—an essential pillar in the decarbonization of North American power grids. This position offers high visibility, significant autonomy, and a direct impact on the company’s growth, profitability, and strategic positioning in its core markets.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in complex sales and large‑scale proposal development, ideally within major project environments
  • Strong technical and commercial expertise in hydropower or in a comparable project‑based industrial sector
  • A structured, analytical, and rigorous mindset, with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in an international, matrixed organization
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with senior-level stakeholders (customers, internal teams, executive management)
  • A high level of proactivity, anticipation, and adaptability
  • A genuine interest in building long-term, trusted customer relationships
  • The ability to manage multiple complex projects or programs simultaneously
  • Full professional proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States for site visits, customer meetings, and conferences

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including technical, commercial, and contractual customer requirements
  • Defining and executing winning bid strategies, aligned with the company’s profitability and risk management objectives
  • Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams (engineering, finance, procurement, legal, etc.) to deliver high‑quality proposals within demanding timelines
  • Participating in the risk management process
  • Preparing decision packages and securing required internal approvals in accordance with governance processes and project scope
  • Developing competitive pricing strategies and analyzing market conditions
  • Reviewing, validating, and consolidating final proposals
  • Leading contract negotiations with customers and partners
  • Ensuring a smooth and structured handover of awarded projects to execution teams
  • Actively contributing to post‑bid reviews to continuously improve commercial practices and performance
