About The Position

As a Sr. Sales Manager you will be responsible for growing FXI’s technical foam products across multiple verticals. This role is focused on managing a sales territory and a portfolio of accounts within an established book of business. You will help shape the strategy for your territory and take ownership of the relationships and profitable growth within it - retaining and expanding existing accounts while pursuing new opportunities with medical and healthcare suppliers and with manufacturers that rely on foam components, including but not limited to, medical, healthcare, industrial, automotive and acoustic applications. This is a role for someone who is comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, knows how to guide a technical, specification-driven sale, and can build momentum with customers from the start. Partnering closely with our Plants, Finance, R&D, and Sales teams, you will translate customer needs into tailored foam solutions that meet demanding technical and regulatory requirements—directly driving revenue, margin, and market share for one of FXI’s most technical and fast-evolving market segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; technical discipline preferred.
  • A proven track record of independently managing a territory or book of key accounts and consistently growing B2B sales. within healthcare/medical, automotive, or acoustic markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a territory and customer accounts while improving customer service and protecting profitability.
  • A demonstrated history of selling technical or engineered components, with the ability to navigate specification-driven, regulated, or OEM supply environments.
  • Strong business acumen, including comfort with pricing, margin, and contract negotiation.
  • A high level of organizational skills and the ability to work remotely and independently while managing a geographically dispersed territory.
  • Strong customer relationship management, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written), along with attention to detail.
  • Strong cross-functional team skills operating in a matrix environment and a drive to succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in Polyurethane Foam or engineered foam components preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and CRM platforms preferred, with the ability to travel 50% or more.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the sales strategy, forecast, and profitable growth for an assigned territory serving healthcare and medical suppliers, automotive component manufacturers, and acoustic applications, meeting and exceeding targets for volume, revenue, profitability, and strategic objectives.
  • Retain and expand existing accounts while proactively identifying, qualifying, and closing new business with medical suppliers and with manufacturers that use foam components in automotive and acoustic applications.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships at the buyer, engineering, and executive levels within key accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for the territory.
  • Lead complex RFQ, quoting, and contract negotiations, coordinating pricing strategy with Finance and operations to win business while protecting margin.
  • Partner with R&D and operations to develop and commercialize foam component solutions that meet customers’ technical, performance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., medical-grade materials, automotive specifications, and acoustic/NVH performance).
  • Work cross functionally to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate evolving customer needs on an ongoing basis, translating them into actionable opportunities for the business.
  • Gather and share market intelligence and competitive insights, and contribute to the innovation process with product ideas and new market opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, and account activity in company tools, and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Support customers with processing of RFQs and other information requests in a timely, professional manner.
