About The Position

Aurora Networks is seeking a highly motivated and technically accomplished Sales Engineer / Architect to join our growing organization in Canada, with a strong preference for candidates based in or near the Greater Montreal area. This hybrid role blends hands‑on pre‑sales engineering with solution architecture leadership. You will serve as a trusted technical partner to customers while directly supporting revenue growth across strategic accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in HFC, DAA, and DOCSIS technologies, along with excellent communication skills and commercial awareness. This position also offers a clearly defined career progression toward a full sales role, including opportunities to transition into Account Manager or Sales Executive positions based on performance and interest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience in HFC access networks or broadband infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a sales engineering, pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or field applications role within a telecom vendor or service provider environment.
  • Strong understanding of HFC plant design, RF engineering principles, and Node+0 architectures.
  • Deep experience with Distributed Access Architecture (R‑PHY, R‑MACPHY, RPDs).
  • In‑depth knowledge of DOCSIS 4.0, including ESD, FDX, smart amplifiers, and OFDM/OFDMA.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking, Ethernet, and fiber transport technologies (WDM/DWDM).
  • Hands‑on familiarity with RF and fiber test tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, SLMs, OTDRs).
  • Strong presentation and customer‑facing capabilities, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive and non‑technical audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • English proficiency required.

  • Communicate the value of Aurora Networks’ solutions through technical briefings, architectural reviews, and executive‑level presentations.
  • Support opportunity qualification, solution positioning, and technical win strategies throughout the sales cycle.
  • Architect scalable, high‑performance HFC and DAA network solutions aligned to customer requirements and long‑term roadmaps.
  • Design solutions supporting node splits, Node+0 architectures, mid‑split and high‑split upgrades, and Remote PHY / MACPHY deployments.
  • Develop detailed bills of material (BOMs), network diagrams, and technical proposals.
  • Lead and support proofs of concept, demonstrations, field trials, and benchmark testing of DAA and DOCSIS 4.0 solutions.
  • Collaborate with customer lab and field teams to validate performance, document results, and support production readiness.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, network planners, and operations teams.
  • Build long‑term customer relationships through technical credibility, responsiveness, and consistent value delivery.
  • Serve as the technical interface between customers and Aurora Networks’ Product Management, R&D, and Operations teams.
