About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate to create an engaging retail experience for music customers. The role combines customer service, sales, product expertise, relationship building, merchandising, and store operations. The associate helps customers choose instruments and accessories, works to achieve sales targets, and supports fellow associates through mentoring and guidance. As a keyholding team member, the associate may open and close the store as needed. Pay is $16.87–$21.09 per hour plus commission, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary.

Requirements

• A proven track record in sales and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.

• Willingness to work additional hours when needed and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear that supports their musical interests.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets by recommending and upselling instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products and help increase product knowledge among other associates.
• Build customer relationships and help fellow associates foster relationships with customers and the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
