About The Position

Ogletree Deakins has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Revenue Specialist to join the Firm’s expanding practice. The Senior Revenue Specialist is part of the Revenue team reporting to the Revenue Manager. The Senior Revenue Specialist is responsible for monitoring past due accounts receivable amounts through direct contact with clients and assisting the collections team to collect and report aged accounts receivable. This position may be remote, but the successful candidate must reside in a state where we have a physical office. We will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in the manner consistent with the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the Fair Chance Ordinance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience required
  • 2-year undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of common collections standards and practices and an acute grasp for the FDCPA and basic accounting principles.
  • Effective verbal, interpersonal communication and listening skills as well as the ability to provide suggestions for process efficiency and improvement.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related technology.
  • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Commitment to perform job responsibilities with high professional and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of foreign currency.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately conduct periodic audits for the assigned locations.
  • Utilize collection systems to identify past-due items.
  • Contact clients regarding the established collection procedures and client/attorney protocol.
  • Maintain an accurate record of collections activities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of procedures and processes.
  • Ability to communicate professionally to internal and external clients.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Services Manager to identify and resolve issues, determine and revise procedures, and ensure accurate recordkeeping of collection activities.
  • Maintain a positive and professional rapport in a team environment.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in determining issues that should be escalated to the manager.
  • Maintain promissory notes and personal guarantees.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and communicate professionally to the insurance carrier(s) on behalf of the attorney.
  • Assist Revenue Manager with various reports as assigned.
  • Assist team members with problem solving.
  • Special projects as assigned.
