Overview As a Senior IT Project Manager - Retail Energy you will lead and oversee complex IT projects within the energy sector. Your role will involve strategic planning, execution, and delivery of projects that support the company's energy initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, application, and data architecture, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
- 3+ years of Retail Energy Experience.
- Strong knowledge of system design, cloud computing, security principles, and modern development frameworks.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Personable, team-oriented, respectful, and empathetic individual who is comfortable working with both on-site and remote team members.
- The ability to analyze complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and drive meaningful insights to support decision-making processes.
- A forward-thinking approach to aligning business objectives with technology solutions, anticipating future challenges, and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas, requirements, and recommendations clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders across functional and technical departments.
- Ability to handle conflicting demands, prioritize workload, and effectively delegate while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Accommodating, but firm, leadership and management of team resources, to hold them to individual target dates and delivery qualities to ensure project health.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation following project governance standards for the company.
- Engage with stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and external vendors, to ensure project alignment with business objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.
- Ensure detailed project tracking and senior presentation decks built to provide and deliver status updates to senior management.
