About The Position

DPP is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry. This is a hybrid role in Columbia, SC, with an expected duration of 11 months. The schedule requires onsite presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and as needed. The role is a W2 Contract position. The Commercial Project Management Service team consists of approximately 10 people who manage various projects across the company's commercial business areas, with a focus on digital experience and non-host applications, utilizing hybrid-agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of job-related work experience; OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in any major.
  • 5 years’ IT experience in a leadership capacity.
  • 2 years’ experience leading two or more concurrent project teams.
  • Microsoft Word
  • Project Management Software (such as MS Project, Azure Dev Ops or similar)
  • Excellent communications (verbal and written) skills with assertive yet customer-focused style.
  • Advanced leadership skills in a team or project environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict management/resolution skills.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies, information systems, business processes, and the key drivers and measures of success for the business unit and the organization.
  • Advanced competency in management of resources to meet goals and multiple projects.
  • Strong ability to lead multiple multidiscipline, high-performance work teams throughout project life cycle.
  • Strong ability to negotiate terms and scope of work documents.
  • Advanced ability to prepare and present formal presentations.
  • Ability to manage all phases of work effort from inception to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of the Client Training Program for Project Management may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
  • Manage multiple work efforts of varying complexity, from minimum to greater complexity system/customer impacts.
  • Adhere to project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budgeted hours, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet ISSM expectations.
  • Monitor project plans, assignments, and work efforts daily.
  • Ensure resource needs are assigned appropriately and escalate functional, quality, and timeline issues.
  • Track key project milestones and adjust project plans to meet the needs of work efforts.
  • Lead projects from inception to final business acceptance and implementation.
  • Mentor other project leads and participate in the training and development of staff.
