Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. in Material Science, Physical, Electrical, or Optical Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills.
  • Analytical thinker; detail oriented; problem solver.
  • Proficient with computers: strong proficiency with MS Excel and Office
  • Experience in Thin Film Deposition, vacuum processes, and optics
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate / Advanced degree preferred, or at least 10 year experience
  • Expertise in Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Familiar with a Cleanroom work environment
  • Programming skills
  • Project Management

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement optical interference filters which meet customer requirements in a wide range of applications, such as consumer electronics, bio medical devices, gas monitoring, fluorescence microscopy, astronomy, light sensing, projection display, quantum optics.
  • Develop and/or improve materials and processes for manufacturing of optical coatings.
  • The assignment will encompass optical coating design, substrate preparation, substrate / wafer handling, vacuum-based coating processes such as sputter deposition, post-coating optical metrology, and other processes.
  • Improve understanding of interaction between different coating materials.
  • Interacting with customers to understand their requirements and develop optical coatings / filters meeting their needs in a timely manner.
