We are excited to be seeking a new Sr. Principal Scientist (Sr. Research Scientist) at ICON in Lenexa, Kansas (KS). The Sr. Principal Scientist (Sr. Research Scientist) will play a crucial role in designing, conducting, and analyzing complex clinical research studies. You will leverage your expertise to drive innovative research initiatives, develop scientific protocols, and collaborate across departments to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials that advance new treatments and therapies.

Requirements

  • Advanced experience in ligand binding assays: ELISA, ECLIA
  • PK, PD, and immunogenicity
  • Usage of relevant software (e.g. SoftMax Pro, Watson)
  • Neutralizing antibody (NAb)
  • PhD with applicable research in a relevant scientific field and 2+ years of CRO experience OR MS or BS in Science and 10+ years of experience in a relevant laboratory environment
  • Extensive experience in clinical research design, data analysis, and interpretation, with a strong publication record.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to scientific excellence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Presenter/Publisher in Regulated relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently designs and executes experiments for LBA method development.
  • Develops new scientific approaches to method development and communicates these to the global science team.
  • Mentor more junior scientists and advise operation on developed methods.
  • Responsible for organized and effective communication with the internal team and management, and with clients regarding project status, scheduling, barriers, etc.
  • Provide scientific input to management and BD about new technology investments and lines of service.
  • Drive new business by consulting with sponsors on assay requirements for new projects.
  • Promotes ICON utilizing scientific skills through scientific communication such as external publication of posters and journal articles.
  • Mentor and train staff on scientific topics.
  • Takes initiative in process development and SOP/WI writing.
  • Has a thorough understanding and complies with GLP and other appropriate regulations.
  • Develops rugged and economical assays.
  • Performs data review of other scientist’s work.
  • Provides key assay input to the validation and bioanalysis team(s) to ensure successful execution.
  • Provide support to Laboratory Operations staff regarding assay quality, expected results, troubleshooting and data review.
  • May perform and document maintenance, trouble-shooting and repairs on advanced instrumentation with support of service engineers or other trained supervisory personnel.
