About The Position

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB Automotive division is currently seeking a Sr Quality Engineer. This position is responsible to ensure outgoing quality of all products in order to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. This includes outgoing inspection, first article & PPAP inspection approvals, the segregation, identification, re-work, and the proper disposition of unacceptable or non-conforming parts and materials. This position will also be responsible directing end of the line inspections, ensure manufacturing and all supporting documentation is complete, Quality Engineering and testing functions daily. Ensure facility complies with IATF and ISO-9001 certifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a Quality Engineering related support role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills in analyzing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for data analysis (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & IATF 16949:2016
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
  • Openness to learning new tools and methodologies.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics.
  • Quality and Metrology knowledge.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PDF reader (Word, Excel, Adobe/Firefox, Outlook, etc.)
  • Communicate and interact with Engineering, Tool Room and Production as necessary to promote specification compliance.
  • Must be able to work alone and on teams with good interpersonal and leadership qualities to get assigned tasks completed in a timely manner.
  • Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.
  • Experienced in the design and development of fixtures, automation workstations, accounting for work and process flow.
  • Must be able to present ideas in a clear and concise manner through various tools or software and gain approval from various levels of the organization.
  • Experience and exposure to various manufacturing technologies such as CNC's, molding, grinding, and automation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Manage external corrective actions that are received from our customers.
  • Provide internal communications pertaining to all customer corrective actions received.
  • Manage customer concern notifications and coordinate internal actions to resolve customer concerns.
  • Lead all customer requested audits including leading the audit, coordinating internally to meet the customer needs and expectations, communicating audit results internally, and assigning owners to corrective actions identified during the audit.
  • Manage First Article Inspection Requests including managing prioritization, coordinating with external inspection providers as needed, and maintaining visual management of FAIR tracking.
  • Generate PPAP submission packages.
  • Generate control plans that meet the expectations of the customer print.
  • Manage, dispute & generate all customer Returned Merchandise Authorizations.
  • Statistical review of product data for issues, trends and improvements as needed.
  • Travel as required to support and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve the customer experience.
  • Support Quality activities as requested.
