About The Position

Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. Conducts Public Safety training and development programs and serves as the first responder to emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Safely de-escalates critical events and uses sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects. Serves as an informal resource to colleagues, conducts training, and onboards new employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of general security, military, or other public safety experience involving regularly carrying a firearm in the course of duty, or equivalent training and job experience demonstrating responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
• Valid in-state driver's license upon hire and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Obtain IAHSS Certification as a Security Officer within one year.
• Pass a pre-employment psychological screening upon hire.
• Pass and maintain all required training and certifications to maintain employment, including Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, and Mental Health First Aid, as well as other training as directed.

Nice To Haves

• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification.
