About The Position

As a Senior Project Manager at LJA Land Development, you will interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering projects involving unique or controversial problems and having an important effect on major company programs. The role leads large and important engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features, and includes responsibility for project planning, staffing, design approach, schedules, budgets, client relationships, and business development. The position also involves supervising and managing engineers and technical support personnel, and exercising independent judgment to evaluate and adapt engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 10 or more years of post-graduate experience in commercial and industrial civil site design.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships.
• Experience managing other engineers and projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct large engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
• Supervise engineering and support personnel.
• Analyze project scope, client requests for proposals, and firm proposals; organize project work and establish procedures.
• Develop and monitor project design schedules to meet client and firm objectives.
• Develop and monitor client budgets and schedules.
• Lead project teams and manage client relationships.
• Support business development, proposal writing, and project management.
• Manage less experienced engineers and technical support personnel.
• Conceptualize the initial design approach for major phases of large projects or assume overall responsibility for engineering work on a project.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate engineering projects involving conventional practices and complex or conflicting design requirements.
• Independently evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
