Sr. Project Manager/Estimator

Turner Mining GroupSeattle, WA

About The Position

The Project Manager/Estimator will serve as a right-hand leader to ownership. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who understands public works, underground utilities, change order management, estimating, and the day-to-day pace of a lean contractor environment. The ideal candidate is not looking for a narrow corporate role; they are comfortable wearing multiple hats, working closely with ownership, and helping build the next stage of the company.

Requirements

  • Public works / municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Underground utilities, especially sewer, water, and storm systems.
  • Roadway and civil infrastructure associated with underground utility work.
  • Experience with public bid environments, and change order documentation.
  • 7 - 10+ years of relevant heavy civil construction experience preferred.
  • Strong public works and underground utility experience.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, non-union environment where people wear multiple hats.
  • High value placed on work ethic, ownership mentality, and willingness to do what is needed to help the company grow.
  • Local market knowledge and relationships with developers, municipalities, homebuilders, engineers, or public agencies are valuable.
  • Strong fit with a family-owned, relationship-driven, hands-on culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Site development, plat work, and land development experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage approximately 3-5 active heavy civil/public works projects at a time, generally ranging from $500K to $10M.
  • Lead project management functions including change order management, project documentation, owner/client communication, schedule coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Support estimating and bidding efforts, with an emphasis on public works and underground utility scopes.
  • Coordinate with the owner, construction manager, field foremen, crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and public-sector stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure work is coordinated, documented, and executed properly.
  • Help evaluate resource allocation, job sequencing, manpower needs, equipment needs, backlog, and upcoming bid opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with private developers, homebuilders, and local market contacts where appropriate.
  • Help bring additional structure, process, and operational discipline to a lean, growing contractor.
  • Remain hands-on and available to visit jobsites, understand field conditions, and support field execution when needed.
