The Lerner Center for Public Health Advocacy at the Bloomberg School of Public Health trains leaders to tackle the world’s greatest public health challenges by effectively engaging with policymakers, media, and the public. Through partnerships, education, and practice-based learning, we are building a more robust public health advocacy field to prevent disease, promote equity, change policy, and drive public health impact. The Center is a major interdepartmental initiative in the field of public health advocacy and science. The Center focuses on the School’s three pillars of excellence: research, training, and practice and is central to the School’s current strategic plan. We are seeking a Sr. Program Officer who will provide technical, programmatic, and management oversight on multiple education programs and leads the development and implementation of program activities independently. The Sr. Program Officer primarily oversees the Lerner Center’s ‘workforce development’ activities and plans and directs the Center’s educational offerings, typically involving multiple courses, subject-matter experts, external partners, internal collaborators, and/or national networks. The Sr. Program Officer also develops program plans, develops SOPs, and establishes new strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Lerner Center’s Chief of Staff, and in collaboration with the Director and Deputy Director, the Sr. Program Officer participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating existing and new initiatives to further the mission and goals of the program. The Sr. Program Officer supervises at least one other education staff member.
