Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field (Engineering or Physical Sciences).
  • 10+ years of experience with Project Management / Leadership in leading internal or external teams.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams (commercial, technical, operations) in program execution, risk management, problem-solving, and strategy implementation.
  • Proven technical aptitude with the ability to discern technical approaches by asking the right questions and communicate updates across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment and a bias toward action.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and executes an overall program plan, including financial and people resources, to meet program objectives and stay within budget.
  • Drives program progress, reconfirms the value proposition, and recommends program progression or elimination to leadership.
  • Monitors changes in customer requirements/scope and assesses their impact on program strategy, business case, risk, resources, speed, and value proposition.
  • Works with customers throughout each stage to maintain engagement, lead scope, and interpret their perception of the product.
  • Sets key program messages and manages information flow regarding program direction, issues, needs, and progress with stakeholders.
  • Develops and leads a compelling business case, including P&L and balance sheet implications, for the product relative to division strategy, market needs, and competition.
  • Identifies commercial, technical, and manufacturing levers to improve the program's business case.
  • Oversees product testing and evaluation to confirm the value proposition, understand the technology for differentiation, and ensure manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Identifies potential origins of strategic control and ensures intellectual property is protected.
  • Utilizes Corning's innovation process to direct program activities.
