About The Position

The team at Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. Based in Westminster, Colorado, this team is looking to add a highly motivated and passionate Sr. Program Manager with 8-12 years of experience. You would be responsible for facilitating coordination between engineering, operations, business development, and leadership teams on complex program challenges and solutions. This role involves leading essential components of program execution, including schedule management, risk oversight, and stakeholder communication, ensuring that critical programmatic tasks are executed reliably. Requirements

  • B.S. in Project Management or related degree or related Master's Degree Preferred.
  • 8-12 yrs of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and understanding of program management principles, concepts, and best practices; PMP certification is desired.
  • Familiarity with aerospace space systems with emphasis on ground and space segments preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in creating Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for all program phases of the business cycle from proposals to program executions using tools like MS Project and Wrike.
  • Understanding of basic contracting principles (contract types, contract strategy, contract clauses, IP considerations, etc.)
  • Understanding of the Defense Acquisition Framework, DoD/ Federal requirements process, and FAR based contracting is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules, and technically challenging projects.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of multiple diverse inputs from stakeholders across program requirements.
  • Ability to act autonomously and navigate the big picture as well as technical, budget and schedule issues at the detail level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Change Control process to control, monitor and resolve internal and external changes related to Program plan.
  • Customer focused, relentlessly seeking the best most innovation solutions for our customers with an emphasis on meeting defined scope and objectives.
  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 5 days/week during core business hours.
  • Applicants must be a US Citizen
  • Top Secret Security Clearance required

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Shapes technical approach for complex programs, balancing performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Establishes strong, collaborative relationship with customers and suppliers.
  • Designs risk management frameworks for complex, multi-phase programs with diverse technical and programmatic risk profiles.
  • Shapes I&T strategies for complex programs, balancing test coverage, schedule, cost, and risk acceptance.
  • Develops and defends basis-of-estimate (BOE) documentation for customer and internal review.
  • Designs CM frameworks for multi-phase, multi-partner programs with complex interface and deliverable structures.
  • Authors white papers, technical memos, and position papers that influence customer or partner decisions.
  • Ensures compliance lessons learned are captured and inform future program planning.
  • Calibrates program metrics against historical baselines and industry benchmarks.
  • Manages software intellectual property, licensing, and deliverable rights in contracts and agreements.
  • Applies parametric cost modeling tools and databases (e.g., PRICE, SEER, USCM, NASA CADRe) to validate or cross-check bottom-up estimates.
