Sr. Product Manager (Solar)

Zeitview•Boston, MA
•$160,000 - $180,000•Remote

About The Position

Zeitview is seeking a Senior Product Manager to serve as the resident expert for its Solar vertical. The role owns problem definition: understanding enterprise customers’ needs, the reasons behind them, and their business value. The Senior Product Manager conducts discovery, builds customer relationships alongside sales, synthesizes market signals, and turns findings into clear, prioritized requirements for platform product managers and engineering teams. The role also owns competitive intelligence and defines metrics that demonstrate product and strategy success. It is growth-focused, including proposing business cases and go-to-market plans for expanding offerings. The position defines the “what” and “why” and works with solutions-side product managers to negotiate the “how” and “when”; it does not own a product backlog or directly ship software. During the first six months, the role will define success measures connected to revenue, retention, and customer outcomes; embed with three to five strategic accounts to understand their inspection workflows, pain points, and decision-making; conduct structured discovery using customer interviews, operational ride-alongs, competitive analysis, and usage data; and turn findings into a prioritized problem set. The role will advocate for its vertical’s priorities with platform product managers using data and customer evidence, write requirements that are actionable for engineering while flexible enough to serve the broader platform, and develop internal credibility as an expert in the solar industry. This is not a platform-building or people-management position. It involves regular enterprise customer calls and travel to customer sites and inspection locations. Candidates must already be physically located in the Boston or San Francisco area; applicants outside those locations are not being considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in product management, solutions consulting, technical sales, or a comparable customer-facing enterprise software role.
  • Deep, direct solar-industry expertise, including familiarity with solar assets, inspection workflows, regulatory context, and business models; candidates without direct industry experience will not be considered.
  • Track record of building trusted enterprise customer relationships and translating them into insight about underlying needs, not only feature requests.
  • Ability to conduct structured discovery and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into a prioritized problem set for other teams.
  • Commercial acumen connecting product decisions to pipeline, deal size, retention, and competitive positioning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presenting to enterprise customer executives and translating conversations into product briefs for solutions product managers and engineering.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and inspection locations.
  • Already physically located in the Boston or San Francisco area.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience working in the solar industry, rather than only selling to it.
