Sr. Product Manager (Solar)

Zeitview•San Francisco, CA
•$160,000 - $180,000•Remote

About The Position

Zeitview is hiring a Senior Product Manager to serve as the company’s solar-vertical expert. The role owns problem definition: understanding enterprise customers’ needs, why those needs matter, and their business value. The manager leads discovery, builds client relationships alongside sales, synthesizes market signals, and turns findings into prioritized requirements for platform product managers and engineering teams. The role also owns competitive intelligence and defines metrics for assessing product and strategy success. It is growth-focused and includes developing business cases and go-to-market approaches for expanding offerings. The role defines the “what” and “why” and works with solutions-side product managers to negotiate the “how” and “when”; it does not own the product backlog or directly ship software. During the first six months, the manager will define success measures tied to revenue, retention, and customer outcomes; embed with three to five strategic solar accounts to learn their workflows and decision-making; conduct structured customer and market discovery; prioritize problems; make data- and evidence-based cases for engineering capacity; write requirements that meet engineering needs while remaining broadly useful; and build internal credibility as Zeitview’s solar-industry expert. This is not a platform-building, pure strategy, or people-management role. It involves regular enterprise-customer calls and travel to customer sites and inspection locations. The candidate must already be physically located in the Boston or San Francisco area; candidates outside those locations are not being considered. Zeitview describes itself as a mission-driven intelligent aerial imaging company serving infrastructure industries in more than 70 countries. Its mission is to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure through advanced inspection solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in product management, solutions consulting, technical sales, or a comparable customer-facing role in enterprise software.
  • Deep, direct solar-industry expertise, including understanding solar assets, inspection workflows, regulatory context, and business models; candidates without direct industry experience will not be considered.
  • Track record of building trusted enterprise-customer relationships and translating them into insight about underlying needs, not merely feature requests.
  • Ability to conduct structured discovery and synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into prioritized, actionable problems.
  • Commercial acumen, including understanding how product decisions affect pipeline, deal size, retention, and competitive positioning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presenting to customer executives and translating discussions into product briefs for solutions product managers and engineering.

  • Must already be physically located in the Boston or San Francisco area.
