About The Position

The Sr Product Manager will own the strategic direction for assigned product categories and develop short-term and long-term business plans collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver strategic goals. This role involves identifying and executing new product development projects and other key business initiatives, managing the existing product line portfolio, and recommending product changes, additions, discontinuations, and cost reductions. The Sr Product Manager will also support market research, act as a subject matter expert on their category, and interface heavily with Sales, including participation in customer shows and visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, business, or related studies is required
  • 7+ years product management experience required
  • Strategic general manager mindset essential
  • Proficient in financial analysis and working with finance team to establish and deliver on financial metrics for projects.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in the development launch of new products and other business initiatives a must.
  • Ability to develop and present comprehensive business recommendations and proposals within the organization as well as to customers essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to confidently and persuasively present to senior leadership team and key customers essential.
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels and functions within the organization a must
  • Manufacturing Environment: 7 years (Required)
  • Channel marketing: 2 years (Required)
  • Sales: 2 years (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred
  • Prior channel marketing and / or sales experience in plumbing a plus
  • Durable goods experience strongly preferred
  • The ideal candidate will want to manage a business, not just products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic direction for assigned product categories and develop short term and long-term business plans collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders to deliver strategic goals.
  • Identify and execute specific new product development projects and other key business initiatives in support of the strategic plan and business roadmap.
  • Manage existing product line portfolio and recommend product changes, additions, discontinuations, and cost reductions to produce best ongoing cost position.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Management in establishing and communicating prioritization of projects and initiatives based upon business needs.
  • Clearly communicate product design direction including feature and performance expectations as well as timing requirements to cross functional teams.
  • Supports market research as required.
  • Subject matter expert on their category for the organization; provide insights on competitor positions & pricing, end user requirements, channel partner needs, cost savings opportunities and trends in their space.
  • Interface heavily with Sales including participation in customer shows and visits.
