Sr. Product Manager (Oil & Gas)

Zeitview•Boston, MA
•$160,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Zeitview is seeking a Senior Product Manager to serve as the voice of the customer and resident expert for its Oil & Gas vertical. The role focuses on defining customer problems, understanding their value, conducting discovery, building enterprise client relationships alongside sales, synthesizing market signals, and translating findings into prioritized requirements for platform product managers and engineering teams. The position also covers competitive intelligence and defining metrics to demonstrate product and strategy success, with a growth focus that includes proposing business cases and go-to-market plans for expanded offerings. The role owns the “what” and “why” of product work and collaborates with solutions-side product managers on the “how” and “when”; it does not own a product backlog or directly ship software. During the first six months, the successful candidate will define Oil & Gas vertical success in terms of revenue, retention, and customer outcomes; embed with three to five strategic accounts to learn their workflows and decision-making; conduct structured discovery using customer interviews, operational ride-alongs, competitive analysis, and usage data; prioritize customer problems; and make evidence-based cases for engineering capacity. The role also requires writing clear, buildable requirements and establishing credibility as Zeitview’s industry expert. This is a customer-facing, cross-functional role rather than a platform-building, pure strategy, or people-management position. Regular enterprise client calls and travel to customer sites and inspection locations are expected. Zeitview is a mission-driven intelligent aerial imaging company working to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Candidates must already be located in Boston/New England or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience.
  • At least 5 years in product management, solutions consulting, technical sales, or a comparable customer-facing role in enterprise software.
  • Deep Oil & Gas domain expertise, including familiarity with relevant assets, inspection workflows, regulatory context, and business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted enterprise customer relationships and derive underlying product needs rather than simply collect feature requests.
  • Ability to conduct structured discovery and synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into an actionable, prioritized problem set.
  • Commercial acumen connecting product decisions to pipeline, deal size, retention, and competitive positioning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presenting to customer executives and translating discussions into product briefs for solutions product managers and engineering.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and inspection locations.
  • Must already be located in Boston/New England or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with operational or service delivery teams, such as field inspection or drone operations.
  • Experience with geospatial data, remote sensing, or asset management platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-powered products and the ability to assess their relevance to real vertical problems.
  • Experience with go-to-market strategy, including product launches, positioning, pricing, or vertical-specific marketing.
  • Experience in mobile application development.

Responsibilities

  • Define success for the Oil & Gas vertical using revenue, retention, and customer outcomes.
  • Embed with three to five strategic Oil & Gas accounts to understand inspection workflows, pain points, and decision-making structures.
  • Run structured discovery through customer interviews, operational ride-alongs, competitive analysis, and usage data.
  • Synthesize discovery findings into a prioritized problem set for the vertical.
  • Advocate for vertical priorities with platform product managers and negotiate engineering capacity using data and customer evidence.
  • Write requirements that are specific enough to guide implementation while remaining flexible enough to serve the broader platform.
  • Build expertise and internal credibility as Zeitview’s Oil & Gas industry expert.
  • Develop competitive intelligence and define metrics to demonstrate product and strategy success.
  • Propose business cases and go-to-market plans for expanding product and service offerings.
  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise customers and convert customer insight into product direction.
  • Travel to customer sites and inspection locations.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, annual bonus, and stock options.
  • Multiple medical insurance plans, including HSA options and 100% premium coverage for the employee and dependents.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Autonomy and upward mobility.
  • Diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
