About The Position

Every day, Clover powers card present and omnicommerce services for hundreds of thousands of merchants in multiple countries around the world. Behind the scenes, we operate a cloud platform providing payment processing, storage, and collaboration for merchants, application developers, service providers, and our merchants' customers. Our devices and platform form the backbone of millions of payment interactions between merchants and their customers daily. We are looking for self starters with a passion for technology who want to help us impact millions of merchant’s lives one transaction at a time. As a Product Manager for Payments at Clover, you’ll help extend our industry leadership in card present payments. You’ll be a core member of the team that grows Clover’s payments business globally, working closely with user experience researchers, designers and your engineering team to create compelling new payment capabilities. You’ll also track and ensure implementation of card brand compliance changes and monitor industry certification requirements. Given your product knowledge, you’ll be called upon to help manage production issues and help ensure the robustness of our payments platform. Finally, you’ll help create product marketing materials, educate sales channels about Clover payments features, and contribute to winning large deals. To be successful in this role, you must have a desire to think strategically while also maintaining close attention to detail.You should have good working knowledge of card processing functions such as authorization, closeout, clearing, settlement, and funding. Knowledge of payment methods outside the US is a strong plus. You must also have an ability to think strategically about Clover’s overall business. You must understand the current landscape of payment industry players, including issuers, acquirers, processors, gateway providers, and payment networks. You must be able to build empathy for our end users; you should love speaking to customers and converting your findings into a roadmap with measurable outcomes. You should be comfortable creating user stories and requirements, presenting to customers, developers and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience
  • Familiarity with payments and financial technology, including EMV, kernels, alternate payment methods, etc.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and influencing skills
  • Capability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
  • An ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering, economics or similar technical field
  • Must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

  • Knowledge of payment methods outside the US is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Track payments industry trends and standards, conduct competitive analysis, then translate findings into actionable insights that inform roadmap decisions
  • Analyze customer feedback to continually improve the user experience of merchants and consumers.
  • Identify opportunities for new value-added and differentiated features for the Clover Ecosystem.
  • Help build business cases for new payments features and products
  • Prioritize deliverables while weighing strategic value, revenue impact and operational benefits and other factors.
  • Define and track KPIs as it relates to the payments capabilities of Clover
  • Collaborate closely with design, engineering, other product managers, developer relations, quality assurance, and operations colleagues to deliver new payments functionality.
  • Define requirements and write detailed user stories for payments-related features
  • Work with marketing staff to create marketing collateral and other materials
  • Monitor adoption of new features
  • Help diagnose and troubleshoot production incidents
