The role designs, develops, and enhances commercial and residential solar racking and mounting products. It is part of an R&D product development team and leads projects for new and advanced products while improving existing products. The position collaborates with project management, testing, application engineering, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, quality, suppliers, and other company teams. It applies prototyping and structured processes to verify fit, function, and standards compliance, and to define testing and qualification plans. The role also supports project management through regular meetings, schedules, cost management, and uncertainty and risk reduction. The work includes site visits that may involve climbing ladders and spending time on flat or pitched roofs in extreme heat or cold, while following applicable safety protocols. The employee must be able to perform the physical activities and lifting described in the posting.
