About The Position

The Sr. Process Development Engineer applies broad and in-depth engineering knowledge to develop processes and equipment that introduce new products into manufacturing. The role focuses on safe, high-quality, cost-effective results; identifying or developing process and equipment technologies; characterizing and optimizing processes; and validating processes and manufacturing lines. As part of new product introduction, the engineer establishes production line layouts or leads improvements to existing operations and may estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs. The engineer initiates and manages the design and development of products and processes from concept through commercial manufacturing, coordinating with other departments and reviewing or approving engineering drawings, layouts, change orders, and specifications. The role plans process flow, evaluates capability, designs or modifies tooling, coordinates engineering work, develops and reviews test plans and procedures, conducts failure analysis and inspections, applies engineering techniques, and prepares project documentation. The position leads projects addressing complex problems and advancing Integer’s technical capabilities; evaluates and implements technologies; develops engineering documents; and may procure complex equipment. It may lead cross-functional teams, supervise up to four or five technicians and/or associate engineers, and mentor other engineers. Occasional travel may be required. The engineer is responsible for embedding quality in engineering work and complying with Integer’s quality, safety, environmental, security, FDA, and other regulatory requirements. The role also supports Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation strategies by championing innovation and continuous improvement systems and tools. This includes applying the Integer Production System’s focus areas: strategy alignment, sustained change, standardization, associate engagement, and systems and process optimization. Performance is assessed through safety and quality results, project goals and milestones, improvements to project duration and processes, innovation and continuous-improvement contributions, expertise, and collaboration.
