Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in our San Diego, CA location supporting the Navigation, Intelligence and Connectivity Division within the Mission Systems sector. This is a full time remote position supporting San Diego, CA. We are looking for a problem-solving Senior Planning Specialist supporting the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization to lead, coordinate and execute assigned tasks within established constraints, while also being flexible to ever evolving proposal requirements. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to lead proposal efforts and work hand-in-hand with Business Development, Capture Managers, Program Managers, Contracts, Subcontracts, Operations, Business Management, Quality and Engineering! The selected individual should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations set by senior leaders and regularly shifting priorities within a collaborative team setting across all levels, all while performing with very limited management oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 6 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Program/Project Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in project management
  • Direct experience working in Supply Chain
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AI, and metrics management
  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management processes
  • Experience in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, or program management
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working with or in the areas of supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, or supplier/program/product scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Develop supply chain strategy and lead activities for GSC in all phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process, working with Business Development and other cross-functional team members.
  • Drive Global Supply Chain actions earlier into the Business Acquisition Process.
  • Manage the GSC activities for acquisition opportunities; coordinate interdepartmental activity, facilitate internal/external team communication, coordinate with Suppliers, and integrate efforts across all GSC functions.
  • Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up. Analyze and aggregate supply / demand requirements.
  • Lead supply chain proposal activities and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins.
  • Create/release Request for Quotes to supply base based on program requirements. Coordinate with Engineering, Program Management, Contracts, Category Management, Cost & Pricing and Material Estimating to integrate costs into the Bill of Materials (BOM). Drive resolution of any supplier and customer issues/questions regarding BOM costs.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering, or program management.
  • Regularly brief the Business Management, GSC Program Management team and program leadership on GSC activity status and issues affecting proposal award.
  • Involved in special projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Mentor other team members on procedural best practices with an eye for maximum proposal efficiencies.
