Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Engineer Electrical to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located in Palmdale, CA. Lead cross-functional design and integration of avionics power systems, redundancy strategies, and harness/test-stand development for advanced aerospace platforms. Apply your ability to interpret schematics and wiring to troubleshoot in the lab and deliver robust solutions for diverse customers and projects.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in.
Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and/or test-stand block diagrams.
Knowledge of power distribution and redundancy

Nice To Haves

Experience with Teamcenter/CPLM
Experience in designing or architecting avionics or aerospace electrical systems, including flight control computers, power systems, sensors, and communication systems.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or similar.
Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional design and integration of avionics power systems, redundancy strategies, and harness/test-stand development for advanced aerospace platforms.
Apply your ability to interpret schematics and wiring to troubleshoot in the lab and deliver robust solutions for diverse customers and projects.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Troubleshooting in lab, working with testers and assisting in processes.
