About The Position

Thermo Fisher Scientific's internship program is designed to identify and develop future leadership talent. Interns who excel and show leadership potential may be considered for full-time roles post-graduation, including entry into Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) or other early career positions. The company operates globally with diverse business units, functions, and locations, requiring interns to be geographically flexible and mobile for both their internship and potential future employment. Placement in internships, LDPs, or full-time roles depends on business needs and organizational priorities. This role requires onsite, in-office work as an essential function. The 10-week internship positions offer students the option to start on May 24, 2027, or June 14, 2027. Intern projects are strategically important to the business and may involve establishing Power BI metrics and visualizations to enhance operational efficiency, providing analytics support for business operating mechanisms and ad-hoc requests, diagnosing and supporting dashboard reporting solutions, acting as a Microsoft Power BI authority, defining and promoting standard dashboard processes, developing scalable metrics and dashboards, and serving as a point of contact for technical issues with digital software suppliers.

Requirements

Undergraduate student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, or related field.
Graduating between December 2027 – June 2028.
Previous related internships and / or work experience totaling 1+ years experience required.
Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, Greek life, community service, volunteer organizations, campus programs, military service, or other leadership roles.
A track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.
Strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
Geographic mobility and flexibility required to pursue internship and future career opportunities in locations aligned with business needs.
Onsite and in-office work is an essential function of this role and is required throughout the program and in future placements to support collaboration across businesses, functions, and locations.
Legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status.
Not a holder of F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.

Nice To Haves

Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements with a lens for translating data into informative visuals and reports enabling data-driven decision
Working understanding of fundamental design principles and data analytic strategies
Experienced within a business intelligence or analyst role passionate about gathering, reporting, and interpreting metrics for operational functions
Experienced with End User Training on Power BI
Experienced using statistical methods and theories for data science and predictive analytics preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with global and site leaders to establish metrics and methods of Power BI interactive visualizations that present relevant and concrete data to improve operational efficiency
Work across regions and functional teams to provide analytics support for recurring business operating mechanisms, as well as ad-hoc, time critical requests to advance key initiatives.
Diagnose and support dashboard reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues, data validation, scalability, balancing and row level security implementation
Act as a Microsoft Power BI, visualization, and dash-boarding authority
Define, document, and promote standard processes for dashboards and self-service reporting tools.
Develop scalable and standardized metrics & dashboards across the business unit while balancing individual needs and requests from multiple sites
Point of contact for technical issues, regular updates, and partner concerns with suppliers of digital software solutions
