About The Position

Thermo Fisher Scientific's internship program is designed to identify and develop future leadership talent. Interns who perform exceptionally well, show leadership potential, and align with the company's values may be considered for full-time roles post-graduation, including entry into Leadership Development Programs (LDPs) or other early career positions. As a global company, interns must be geographically flexible for their assignment and potential future employment. The internship is a 10-week position, with start dates on May 24, 2027, or June 14, 2027. All projects are strategically important to the business. This role requires onsite and in-office work.

Requirements

  • Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements with a lens for translating data into informative visuals and reports enabling data-driven decision
  • Working understanding of fundamental design principles and data analytic strategies
  • Experienced within a business intelligence or analyst role passionate about gathering, reporting, and interpreting metrics for operational functions
  • Experienced with End User Training on Power BI
  • Meticulous and systematic problem solving approach
  • Ability to translate requirements into dashboard format
  • Good interpersonal skills, excellent data visualization skills
  • Able to assess, assume and complete tasks independently
  • Project-level vision vital to look beyond task assignments to overall business objectives
  • Engage with a diverse team with varied abilities, backgrounds and regions
  • Tried ability to implement multiple, simultaneous projects and priorities
  • Knowledge of database architecture and design
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions
  • Undergraduate student completing a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Analytics, or related field. between December 2027 – June 2028.
  • Previous related internships and / or work experience totaling 1+ years experience required.
  • Proven leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, Greek life, community service, volunteer organizations, campus programs, military service, or other leadership roles.
  • A track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
  • Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.
  • Strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Geographic mobility and flexibility required to pursue internship and future career opportunities in locations aligned with business needs.
  • Onsite and in-office work is an essential function of this role and is required throughout the program and in future placements to support collaboration across businesses, functions, and locations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global and site leaders to establish metrics and methods of Power BI interactive visualizations that present relevant and concrete data to improve operational efficiency
  • Work across regions and functional teams to provide analytics support for recurring business operating mechanisms, as well as ad-hoc, time critical requests to advance key initiatives.
  • Diagnose and support dashboard reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues, data validation, scalability, balancing and row level security implementation
  • Act as a Microsoft Power BI, visualization, and dash-boarding authority
  • Define, document, and promote standard processes for dashboards and self-service reporting tools.
  • Develop scalable and standardized metrics & dashboards across the business unit while balancing individual needs and requests from multiple sites
  • Point of contact for technical issues, regular updates, and partner concerns with suppliers of digital software solutions
