Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years job related experience.
  • Good computer and typing skills (minimum 40 WPM), Experience with MicroSoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Strong public relations skills;
  • Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize own work and ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadline, multi-tasker.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi- lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates case and incident files and reports; combines all information to create a complete case file.
  • Maintains office communication and correspondence; answers phones, communicates messages to the appropriate recipient. Assists customers and citizens of the county daily.
  • Schedules Inspectors and Investigators appointments and life safety inspections; communicates with the customer to schedule prompt inspections and meetings as needed per each inspector/investigator.
  • Creates, organizes, and maintains files for records; creates new files for new projects and ensures the information is accurate.
  • Processes plans and payments for the inspection division; ensures accurate plans log for plans received and communicates with customers for status updates.
  • Responds to open records and any inquiries related to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
  • Assists with monthly reports and entry into the Records Management System for the department.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
