Infrastructure Services is part of IS&T and the foundation of Apple’s global network operations — managing data center equipment and systems to deliver compute, storage, and networking services for teams across Apple, including its internal developer community. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Enterprise Network Reliability Engineer to join Apple’s Enterprise Networks Reliability Engineering team. This role is responsible for engineering, automating, and continuously improving the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of Apple’s global enterprise network services.

As a Senior Enterprise Network Reliability Engineer, you will partner across software, infrastructure, architecture, operations, and security teams to design and continuously improve resilient enterprise network services. As Apple evolves toward modern Access Fabric architectures, you will play a key role in delivering highly reliable wired and wireless services supporting Engineering, Product Development, Corporate Services, and Apple’s growing portfolio of critical business, executive, product launch, and global events. This is a hands-on engineering role that extends beyond Apple’s traditional campus environments. You will design, build, deploy, and support complex network environments at offsite and temporary locations, often working within unique technical, physical, and time-sensitive constraints. You will translate event and business requirements into resilient network designs and take ownership from initial architecture and planning through onsite deployment, validation, operational readiness, live-event support, and post-event improvement. You will develop automation, intelligent operational workflows, and observability capabilities that proactively detect, investigate, and prevent customer-impacting issues, helping transform enterprise network operations from reactive support toward predictive and increasingly autonomous reliability engineering. Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Network Reliability Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Enterprise Network Engineering, or a related infrastructure engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience designing, engineering, and operating highly available, large-scale enterprise wired and wireless network services.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, multicast, and network security fundamentals.
• Strong hands-on engineering and troubleshooting experience with complex wired and wireless network environments, including the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across multiple infrastructure layers.
• Experience developing automation or software-driven solutions using scripting, APIs, or comparable technologies to improve network engineering and operational workflows.
• Experience using telemetry, monitoring, metrics, logging, or analytics to assess infrastructure health, performance, reliability, and customer experience.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex technical problems from requirements and design through implementation, validation, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, operations, and business teams.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work hands-on in offsite and temporary environments to design, deploy, validate, troubleshoot, and support business-critical network infrastructure for events, product launches, executive engagements, and other strategic initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Deep experience with modern enterprise network architectures, including Access Fabric, Software Defined Networking (SDN), EVPN/VXLAN, network virtualization, and intent-based networking.
• Advanced enterprise wireless networking experience, including RF design, high-density wireless, client experience, roaming optimization, spectrum analysis, 6 GHz, and Wi-Fi 6E/7 technologies.
• Experience designing and delivering network infrastructure for large-scale global events, product launches, executive engagements, temporary venues, or other highly visible production environments.
• Experience engineering temporary or rapidly deployed network environments involving high-density wireless, complex RF conditions, resilient wired infrastructure, diverse WAN connectivity, and demanding performance and availability requirements.
• Experience building software-driven infrastructure solutions using technologies such as Python, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Terraform, or modern DevOps engineering practices.
• Experience developing observability platforms using network telemetry, service-level indicators, metrics, logging, analytics, dashboards, and operational data pipelines.
• Experience developing or integrating Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI workflows, or AI-assisted engineering tooling to improve investigation, automation, operational analysis, and engineering productivity.
• Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including IPv6, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, multicast, QoS, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking and security platforms from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with enterprise security architectures, Zero Trust principles, identity-based networking, network access control, and secure-by-design engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or equivalent cloud environments.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CWNP, or equivalent demonstrated technical expertise.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to influence architectural and engineering direction across multiple organizations.
• Passion for continuous learning, engineering innovation, and evaluating emerging technologies that improve reliability, automation, scalability, and operational excellence.
