About The Position

Oversees, coordinates, and communicates all activities for data network hardware and software such as local and wide area networks, remote access, dialup, virtual private networks, network management, network security, and internet connectivity. Plans, designs, implements, and maintains all network system hardware and software with respect to LAN, WAN, network management, firewall, remote access, VPN, and wireless. Leads projects on major data network projects and provides project status updates to all relevant staff and management, with project management and technical expertise input. Creates security policies for all network equipment including firewall, Internet/Extranet, remote access, as well as all other network equipment. Makes recommendations and implements solutions to proactively manage network equipment. Schedules and prioritizes work activities of Network Engineers. Provides technical expertise, coaching and training to junior networking and networking support staff. Designs, collaborates, and implements network management systems and recommends strategies for network troubleshooting and resolution. Researches, tests and evaluates emerging technologies. Coordinates selection and implementation of new hardware and software that will enhance operating and development activities. Ensures that proper documentation of all network systems is completed and accurate. Assists with budgeting by providing information regarding new hardware and software needs. Assists in cost/benefit analysis for network enhancements.

Requirements

• Technical degree in associated area or equivalent experience, required.
• Ability to leverage information to create customized customer solutions.
• Ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs.
• Ability to develop strategies and manage information flow.
• Ability to develop and deliver solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Ability to identify and manage resources required to provide high levels of service.
• Computer skills

Nice To Haves

• 7 years of experience in LAN/WAN technologies, preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferred.
