About The Position

Themis Insight is hiring a Sr. Network Engineer (Cisco & Network Security) to work in Fort Meade, Maryland. Position location may change based on the needs of the central Maryland client. The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance. The engineer provides network management across design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades. The role develops and implements scalable network solutions and layouts; installs, configures, and maintains network hardware and software; implements network security controls; monitors network health and traffic; troubleshoots issues; and maintains network documentation, policies, diagrams, and accreditations. The engineer analyzes network designs and specifications, evaluates traffic characteristics and performance, recommends network component procurement or modifications, and implements communications-system requirements for distributed software engineering environments. At Level 3, the engineer designs, integrates, tests, deploys, and maintains network solutions and equipment; improves latency, throughput, system performance, and dataflow; supports WAN and LAN topologies; and implements network services and technologies such as load balancing, VPNs, firewalls, traffic shaping, VoIP, GRE tunneling, IPSec, IP encryption, MoIP, NAT, and network acceleration. The role coordinates with system engineering, dataflow organizations, end customers, repositories, and tasking organizations to support mission operations and reduce downtime and adverse dataflow impacts. It also includes maintaining network diagrams and accreditations, validating dataflows and formats, performing inventories, reporting suspected physical tampering or COMSEC incidents, and providing guidance to junior Network Engineers. Themis Insight describes its benefits as including flexible work-life balance options, fully paid health benefit premiums, retirement contributions, paid time off and holidays, career counseling and development plans, education and training, and employee referral bonuses.
