About The Position

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Senior MRI Advanced Modality Technologist for the Radiation Oncology Department at the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM), located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. This position offers NO CALL or WEEKENDS, with Day Shift Hours from Monday to Friday. The role includes a 5% Advanced Modality Differential and focuses on Magnetic Resonance Imaging within the context of Radiation Oncology, Medical Imaging, Cancer Care, and Radiation Therapy.

Requirements

• Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R) and/or MR
• Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
• 2 years’ experience
• IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI
• R.T.(R), CT,MR,M,BD,CI,VI,RCIS

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required by work area.
• Assists with regulatory compliance for the department (ACR, JC). Maintains up-to-date regulatory information.
• Oversees department quality assurance program under the direction of the Clinical Instructor or Lead/Charge.
• Participates in department or hospital safety/quality process improvements and initiatives.
• Leads the team in improving patient experience and/or improving employee engagement.
• Mentors new employees and/or clinical students under the direction of the CI.
• Performs all responsibilities of an Advanced Modality Technologist and assumes responsibilities of the Lead Tech in their absence.
• Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees.
• Must have 3 or more responsibilities within the following categories: hospital/department initiatives, patient experience and employee engagement, quality assurance, process improvement and mentorship.
• Performs all responsibilities under the direction of lead/charge of advanced modality technologist.
